Drought, Pam Bachorz

A two hundred year old church has been took into slvary, waiting for Otto (their god.) The congregation has been hidden from the modern world, doomed to collecting "Healing" water from the mountian plants. Two hundred years the congregation has kept strong with Otto's blood, but what happens when they run out? Ruby, Otto's daughter, has seen the otherside of slavery though. What happens when the leader wants something other than her congregation?

"Im not ready," i tell him. "but i'll learn to be."

I loved this book, it was terrifying in the unexpecting way, it hurt in the worst place. Drought was a amazingly thought out story and plotted line. The characters made me hate them, made me love them, and made me want to go with them.
